Legitimate ways to earn an income online in the UK

Are there really any legitimate ways to make money online left? The internet is fast becoming a haven for quick, easy money and many companies promise to give you such a thing. Having spent the last 5 or 6 years trying to find the 'secret sauce' I have come to the conclusion that it is much more difficult than you'd like to think. Then I discovered Points2shop and I actually made some money, it wasn't a lot but it was the first step in realizing I could make money online and all without spending a dime of my own money.
